☆ ABOUT .
"Starconches & Starlight" is a zine project dedicated to the romantic relationship between Tartaglia "Childe" and Lumine from Genshin Impact.
When thinking of starconches and starlight, you'd imagine Childe and Lumine strolling down Yaoguang Shoal. That intimacy of spending time together— collecting starconches under the glittering starlight.
The theme for this zine focuses on the canonical events that happened between Childe and Lumine. From their fateful encounter in the steps of Liyue, to their time together with Teucer in the "Monoceros Caeli" chapter— These two souls were bound to meet each other and collide, both as warriors and lovers.
Due to the NSFW nature of our companion zine (digital only), and the fact that the zine will be for-profit, we have restricted the age of contributors to 18+ only.

☆ THEME & CONCEPT .
When applying for the zine, it is highly encouraged that you pitch an idea for the zine. We want the zine to have a variety of content and ideas that present Childe and Lumine’s relationship across different scenarios in the fantastical world of Teyvat!
The SFW zine will focus on these timelines:
After their first encounter in the "Rite of Descension" Chapter
During the "Monoceros Caeli" Chapter (Childe's Character Story Arc)
During or After "Lantern Rite Festival" Event
While the NSFW digital companion zine will focus on these timelines:
After the "The Fond Farewell" Chapter
After the "Monoceros Caeli" Chapter
Be as elaborate and creative as you’d like! There is also a leeway to canon compliance/canon divergence. We encourage variety and originality, and we would love to see those qualities in this project!
Ideas and pitches are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Everyone is required to type down their concept in a spreadsheet during the Concept Check-In date to lock it down.
☆ NSFW SIDE ZINE .
All requirements from the application guidelines are applied when applying to be an artist or writer for the NSFW companion zine. This companion zine will only be a PDF copy and will be sold alongside our main zine bundles.
We will not accept any NSFW ideas or creative works that display: gore, rape, torture, horror, underage, non-consensual, incest, bestiality, abuse, offensive content, etc. It is solely the mods' discretion to notify a contributor and suggest they change their pitch if they do not follow the guidelines of the zine.
☆ APPS GUIDELINES .
All applicants must be over the age of 18 at the time of the application. This is due to the possibility of an NSFW companion zine. To receive payment, you must be at least 18 years or older. Contributors eligible for financial compensation should also have access to a PayPal account.
You may apply for more than one role, but will only be accepted for one. You may be accepted for both the SFW and NSFW zines if you have applied for both.
Provide 3 samples that best represent your skills and the art style you plan to use for your zine submission.
Provide a portfolio consisting of 5-10 pieces of your work.
All links must work! Broken links will result in disqualification. (tip: Try accessing the links in an incognito browser)
Contributors retain the rights to their works and may re-distribute them, but only AFTER pre-orders close. They are prohibited from sharing any unauthorized WIPs during the process.
By applying for a position as a contributor you confirm that you've read the schedule and will dedicate yourself to the project's timeline and everything included in your position. Failure to adhere to guidelines may result in disqualification.
While works that depict Genshin Impact or Chilumi are not required, it is highly encouraged!
☆ Page Artist .
When applying, we will be looking for:
Styles that beautifully handle detail.
Understanding of basic human anatomy and expressive facial features.
Engaging composition and “full” pieces.
At least 1 of your 3 samples must include a detailed environmental background (not a solid background, gradient, or graphic elements).

☆ Merch Artist .
When applying, we will be looking for:
Appealing style with strong lineart quality.
Creativity, variety, and flair.
Understanding of basic human anatomy.

☆ Writer .
When applying, we will be looking for:
Understanding of proper grammar and the usage of descriptive language.
1 Sample must be within 1500 words or less. The other 2 samples can be excerpts from a longer work.
Ability to tell a complete story with a strong grasp of plotting, flow, characterization, and setting.
